Transgender issues take centre stage at State Welfare Board Formation meeting in Ranchi

Ranchi, Jan 21 (UNI) Issues related to the welfare, rights and inclusion of the transgender community were prominently discussed at a State Welfare Board Formation Meeting held here on Wednesday.
The meeting was organised under the Alliance India SAHAS Project by Utthan Sanstha at the Ranchi Press Club and brought together transgender community members from various districts of Jharkhand.
The participants deliberated on the functioning of the Transgender Welfare Board and district-level transgender cells, expressing concern that despite formal constitution of these bodies, tangible work at the grassroots level remains largely absent.
