Transporters, drivers observe strike, unions say it may intensify if issues not addressed

New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) Taxis, trucks, and several transporters observed the strike, demanding a rise in the fare amid increasing price of fuel prices, and also against the environment cess imposed on commercial goods carriers entering the Delhi- NCR.
AIMTC had demanded a rollback of an increased environmental compensation cess on commercial vehicles, while they have also sought revocation of the ban on those vehicles with BS-IV or the previous stage emission norms.
Several taxis did not run to express their support for the call, while drivers expressed concerns regarding the rise in fuel price. Some also said that the fares need to be revised, with the rise in prices of everything.

Delhi: action continues on encroachments, illegal constructions

New Delhi, Jun 7 (UNI) Delhi Government’s strict campaign against illegal constructions, encroachments and violations of building safety norms continued across the capital on Sunday. A total of 130 sites across the city’s districts were inspected by the revenue department, and accordingly notices were issued to them, while sealing and required actions were taken at several places.
