Turkey urges world to put pressure on Israel to end Gaza conflict

Ankara, Aug 7 (UNI) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called on the international community on Wednesday to put the "necessary pressure" on Israel and its allies to persuade it to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
"Every day, Israel kills more and more innocent Palestinians. The international community must contribute to ending this genocide, putting the necessary pressure on Israel and its allies. Turkey will make all efforts towards this goal," Fidan wrote on X.
This comes after Turkish lawmaker Cuneyt Yuksel said that Ankara had joined a lawsuit lodged by South Africa against Israel with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in December. The Israeli military is accused of committing genocide in the Palestinian enclave.
