Two arrested after youth beaten to death

Etawah (UP), Mar 21 (UNI) Two persons were arrested on Tuesday after a youth was beaten to death by crowd on suspicion of being a thief in Civil Lines areas of Etawah district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior officer said here.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Kumar Verma while confirming the incident said that a youth was beaten on the suspicion of being a thief. "The youth was admitted to the hospital from where he went to his home where he died. Two people have been arrested in this connection," he said.
Police sources said that Amjad (32) was strolling near a car opposite Chaudhary petrol pump in Civil lines area while the occupants of the vehicle were celebrating birthday in a hotel late on Sunday night. "Accusing Amjad of being an auto-lifter, some people started thrashing him. After hearing the noise the car owner Saurabh and his father reached the spot and they too thrashed the youth," they said.
