Two clerks in Sangli district collector's office arrested for graft

Sangli, Jan 29 (UNI) The city unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday arrested two members of staff at the district collector's office here, including a senior clerk and a clerk-cum-data operator, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh from a complainant.
The alleged accused, Ananta Vithalrao Bhanuse (51, senior clerk in Revenue department of district collector's office, Sangli) and Deelip Nirvuti Desai (43, clerk-cum-data operator also in the same office), had demanded Rs two lakh as bribe for granting permission to sell out 'Mahar Vatan' (Mahar heritage) land.
Then, the matter was settled at Rs 1.50 lakh, an official press release said.
