Uddhav announces Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia for kin of deceased in Palghar hospital fire

Mumbai, Apr 23(UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of 13 lives in fire at the intensive care unit of Vijay Vallabh Hospital at Virar in Palghar and announced solatium of Rs 5 lakh each to the kin of deceased.
He also announced Rs 1 lakh each for the critically injured.
The Chief Minister spoke to the concerned officials and took stock of the situation.
The cause of the fire should be properly investigated. He also directed the administration to immediately inquire whether the fire safety measures were adequate or not.
Meanwhile, state opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis also expressed grief over the deaths in fire.

Pune, April 24(UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Bihar; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Gangetic West Bengal; at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and Jharkhand; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Assam and Meghalaya; at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Odisha. These were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and east Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.5°C was reported at Anantapur (Rayalaseema) over the country.
