Unidentified terrorists fire at Army in Tinsukia, minor injuries to three personnel

Guwahati, Oct 17 (UNI) At least three personnel of the Indian Army were injured after suspected terrorists fired on Kakopathar company of the Indian Army, said an Indian Army spokesperson today, adding that the terrorists fired at the company from a moving vehicle.
The incident occurred yesterday midnight.
"The troops on duty responded immediately and effectively taking due caution to avoid collateral damage to civilian houses in the close vicinity," said the spokesperson, adding that immediate and effective retaliation by the Army forced the terrorists to flee the site after carrying out speculative firing using automatic weapons.

Imphal, July 11 UNI : A few abandoned houses of residents belonging to the Meitei community near a security encampment at a village in Imphal West district were burnt on Saturday by a mob of Kuki miscreants evoking wide spread condemnations.
Two persons were apprehended for their alleged involvement in the incident, inviting condemnation from Chief Minister Y Khemchand, his predecessor N Biren and others.
