Kushinagar (UP), Nov 9 (UNI) A 16-year-old girl was killed by slitting her throat by unidentified miscreant in Nebua Naurangiya area of Kushinagar district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Saturday.
Police sources said that on Friday night unidentified miscreants entered the house of Priya Singh in Naukatola village and slit her throat with a sharp-edged weapon while she was asleep. "The miscreants also attacked Priya's father with the sharp-edged weapon, but he somehow managed to escape," they said.
Police sources said that Priya's father told the police that all other family members had gone to relatives' house on the occasion of Chhath festival. "Priya was a high school student and his father has accused some people of the village of committing the incident due to enmity," they said.
