UP: Driver, cleaner of trailer, charred to death

Fatehpur (UP), Nov 7 (UNI) A driver and cleaner of a trailer were charred to death when it caught fire after colliding with another trailer in the Hussainganj area of Fatehpur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, a senior police officer said.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dhawal Jaiswal said that the incident took place near Asli Bridge, where a trailer coming from Rae Bareli collided with another going towards Lucknow.
"Both the trailers caught fire after the accident," he said.

Liquor shops in Uttar Pradesh will remain open for an extra hour on Xmas & New Year

Lucknow, Dec 12 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Excise Department has decided to extend the hours of operation of all excise retail shops across the state in view of Christmas and New Year.
According to an order issued by the Excise Commissioner's office here on Friday, the opening hours for the shops during Christmas on December 24 and 25 and New Year's celebrations on December 30 and 31 have been fixed from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Lucknow, Dec 12 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor (UPDIC), one of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s flagship initiatives, is swiftly taking shape on the ground.
Envisioned to strengthen India’s defence and aerospace self-reliance, the project has already allotted more than 977.54 hectares of land to 62 companies. These firms alone have paved the way for investments worth Rs 11,997.45 crore and the creation of 14,256 direct jobs.

Woman BLO killed after speeding truck hits her in UP's Farrukhabad

Farrukhabad, Dec 12 (UNI) A woman Booth Level Officer (BLO) died on Friday after being hit by a truck in the Kadri Gate police station area of Farrukhabad district, Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The victim, identified as Archana Singh alias Kishori Singh, aged around 40, was a resident of Mohalla Nekpur Chaurasi near SR Cold Storage in the Fatehgarh police station area.
