Uttarakhand govt cancels Xth board exams, postpones XIIth

Dehradun, Apr 18 (UNI) Uttarakhand government has cancelled the class Xth board examinations while deferred for class XIIth, owing to an exponential rise in COVID-19 cases in the state, State Education Minister Arvind Pandey said on Sunday.
Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) exams for classes Xth and Xth were scheduled to begin from May 4, 2021.
"Uttarakhand government has decided to postpone class XIIth board exams. Dates for the examination will be announced later," Mr Pandey said.
"Class 10 board exams are cancelled. Those who still want to appear in the exam will be allowed to do the same and dates for the exams will be declared when the time is conducive," the Minister added.
Earlier, CBSE and ICSE had also cancelled class Xth board exams and postponed class XIIth board exams due to Covid situation.
