Vande Mataram inspired India’s freedom and unity’: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad, Nov 7 (UNI) union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy said the slogan ‘Vande Mataram’ not only ignited the freedom movement against British rule but also united Indians across regions and religions in their struggle for independence.
He was speaking at the 150th anniversary celebrations of the song ‘Vande Mataram’ held at Hanuman Gymnasium, Kothi, on Friday. The event marked the completion of 150 years since Bankim Chandra Chatterjee composed the iconic national song.
Kishan Reddy said that, as per the decision of the Central Government, celebrations were being held across the country and around the world to mark the milestone. “At this historic time, we must renew our self-respect, national pride, and integrity,” he said.
