Veteran Telugu actor Vijaya Rangaraju dies in Chennai

Hyderabad, Jan 20 (UNI) Vijaya Rangaraju, the popular Telugu actor famous for his villainous roles, died at a private hospital in Chennai on Monday due to cardiac arrest.
He was 55 and survived by two daughters.
According to reports, Rangaraju was taken to the hospital around a week ago after he suffered an injury during a film shoot in Hyderabad for his upcoming movie.
After that, he was rushed to Chennai for further medical assistance, where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
The Telugu Film Producers Council confirmed the death of Rangaraju on their social media account.
He began his acting career in theatre in Chennai before transitioning to the silver screen.
The breakthrough came with the1994 film Bhairava Dweepam, in which he starred alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna as a menacing antagonist.
His notable entry into Telugu cinema was with director Bapu's Seetha Kalyanam, which opened doors for his successful film career.
Over the years, he appeared in several Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films. His last notable role in Telugu was in the Gopichand starrer Yagnam (2004)
