Vishwa Samudra Group announces new leadership for global expansion

Hyderabad, Jan 15 (UNI) Hyderabad-based USD 3 billion conglomerate Vishwa Samudra Group has appointed Shivdutt Das as Managing Director and Ms Lakshmi Priyadarshini Chinta as Vice Chairperson of its holding company to oversee group operations.

The group, led by Chairman Chinta Sasidhar, operates across sectors including engineering, marine, aviation, manufacturing, and investments. Its engineering arm, Vishwa Samudra Engineering, has achieved remarkable growth over the past two years, earning accolades such as the Most Innovative Infrastructure Company award at the ABP Infrastructure Conclave and pioneering India’s first urban ropeway project in Varanasi, a company statement said on Wednesday.

Das, previously the Group Executive Director, brings extensive experience from roles at United Spirits, ICICI Prudential, Bharti AXA Life Insurance, and Tata AIA, among others.

A FICCI National Executive member, he is also known for his early investment in Swiggy and his philanthropic pursuits, including authoring Dugga Dugga, a coffee table book on Durga Puja.

Group Chairman Sasidhar praised Das, stating, “As we build a global enterprise, Shivdutt is the ideal leader to drive our vision forward.”

Ms Lakshmi Priyadarshini Chinta, an accomplished mathematician and advocate for education, takes on the role of Vice Chairperson, contributing to the group’s emphasis on gender inclusion and balanced leadership.
