Walkathon in Kochi highlights ‘amputation-free India’ drive

Kochi, Nov 12 (UNI) A walkathon was held here as part of the nationwide Amputation-Free India campaign to raise awareness about vascular diseases, their prevention, and treatment options.
The event, organised jointly by the India and Kerala chapters of the Vascular Society in association with Amrita Hospital, was flagged off by Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden.
Speaking on the occasion, Eden stressed the importance of public awareness about vascular and lifestyle diseases, noting that many amputations occur due to a lack of timely diagnosis and understanding of treatment options. The campaign, he said, plays a vital role in preventing avoidable limb loss.
