Walmart collaborates with OpenAI to start AI training program for its employees

New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) OpenAI is launching a new certification program, and we're proud to be one of the first companies to be part of it, said John Furner, President and CEO of Walmart.
Moreover, Walmart is among the few companies that are using AI aggressively.
It leverages artificial intelligence in workflow for overnight stocking and translation for real-time communication.
Besides this, the company uses AI to deliver personalised Business-to-business (B2B) experience, contract negotiations with suppliers and next-gen tools like 'Ask Sam.'
The tool 'Ask Sam' is a voice and text-enabled digital assistant that help Walmart associates to store information like product locations and prices.
Describing the training program for associates, John Furner posted on LinkedIn " The training will be available through Walmart Academy and include AI courses designed to help them succeed at work, grow their careers, and thrive in an increasingly digital world."
"And it builds on the nearly USD 1 billion we've already committed to skills training through 2026. From supply chains to stores to tech, we're making sure associates are ready for the jobs of today—and tomorrow." Furner added.

Furner also noted that the future of retail won't be defined by technology alone—it will be defined by people who know how to use it.
He said " By bringing AI training directly to our associates, we'll enable our people to maximize the benefit of AI-powered technology--giving them the skills they need to rewrite the playbook and shape the futureof retail."
Walmart Inc. is a US-based retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets (also known as supercenters), discount department stores, and grocery stores in the US and 23 other countries.
