Census 2027: Director Census Operations J&K-Ladakh encourages students to engage with technological advancements

Leh, Aug 5 (UNI) Highlighting the transformation of the Census process through the adoption of digital technology, Chief Principal Census Officer (CPCO) and Director, Census Operations (DCO), J&K and Ladakh, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Amit Sharma, on Tuesday encouraged students to participate in the technological advancements associated with Census 2027, including Self-Enumeration.
In his presidential address as the chief guest at a Census Quiz-cum-Awareness Seminar organised at the Leh Campus of the University of Ladakh, he also spoke strongly against the menace of drug addiction, urging the youth to stay away from drugs and focus on education, innovation and constructive pursuits.
CPCO Sharma informed that the union Territory of Ladakh would emerge as the first UT/State in the country to complete the entire Census activity by the end of September this year. In comparison, Census 2027 activities in all other states and union Territories will conclude by the end of February 2027.

Shimla, Aug 19 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board has registered a 39 per cent growth in sales during 2025-26, with sales of various products touching Rs 54.84 crore against Rs 39.19 crore in the previous financial year, earning around Rs 4.50 crore for the Board. The figures were presented at the 248th meeting of the Board of Directors held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan.

ACB registers case over illegal construction in Jhelum flood basin in Srinagar
