Mahatma Gandhi's statue vandalized in Lathi town of Gujarat

Amreli (Gujarat), Jan 4 (UNI) Unidentified anti-social elements vandalized a statue of Mahatma Gandhi near Hari Krishna Sarovar lake in Lathi town of Amreli district of Gujarat, police said on Saturday.
The statue set up as part of the beautification project of a lake situated near the Akala road in the Lathi town was vandalized by unidentified persons most likely anti-social elements some time last night. A case in this regard has been lodged and detailed investigation was on, police said.
The anti social elements had earlier too targeted some other items including statues of god-goddesses, name-plates and trees set up as part of beautification project of the lake as a joint effort by the local administration and an NGO.
