PM lauds Arunachal govt for crossing 75 pc coverage under JJM

New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Sunday heaped praise on Chief Minister Pema Khandu-led government in Arunachal Pradesh for crossing 75 per cent coverage under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the frontier state.
In a reply to a tweet by Khandu, the PM took to the micro-blogging site and wrote, “75 per cent coverage in the time of Amrit Mahotsav is commendable, keeping in mind the difficult terrain in parts of Arunachal Pradesh."
"Compliments to the team delivering this and best wishes to complete the remaining part," he said lauding the Khandu-led government.
Earlier in a tweet, Khandu wrote,
"Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji on Aug 15, 2019, 'Jal Jeevan Mission' aims at providing clean water to every household. It's a grand success that we have crossed 75 per cent coverage under JJM providing drinking water to 1.73 lakh rural households."
"This feat is especially laudable since we have households in remote and tough locations. Taking potable water to these households was a huge challenge and I am glad that it was achieved due to inspiration of PM.Compliments to all those who made it happen," he said.
The JJM is under implementation in partnership with states with the objective to provide functional household tap connections to every rural household of the country by 2024.
Arunachal Pradesh has decided to provide 100 per cent tap water connections to all the households in the state by 2023 under the mission.
