'Bandish Bandits' actor Ritwik Bhowmik to make bollywood debut with 'Abhootpurva'

Mumbai, Sep 6 (UNI) Ritwik Bhowmik, who gained immense popularity for his role in the hit web series Bandish Bandits, is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the film Abhootpurva.
The actor, known for his compelling performance in the music-driven show, is now ready to showcase his versatility in a new cinematic venture.
Set in the 1990s in Agra, the film will see Ritwik Bhowmik step into the role of Abhay.
Today, the makers introduced him to the audience with a heartfelt post on Instagram. Sharing the first official announcement, they wrote, "Introducing Ritwik Bhowmik as Abhay in the world of Abhootpurva. Ek aisi mohabbat ki daastaan, jo na kabhi kahi gayi, na kabhi suni gayi... Abhootpurv. From the streets of 90s Agra to a love that transcends life itself... Abhay's journey begins here. This heartwarming note is just a small glimpse of the world we're trying to create... the rest, we hope, you'll experience with us on the big screen."
Ritwik will be seen in a gripping role that marks a significant departure from his previous work, as he steps into a more intense, narrative-driven character in the film.
The film is produced by Khyati Madaan's Not Out Entertainment, though further details about the project are being kept under wraps for now.
Ritwik Bhowmik, originally from West Bengal, began his career in theatre before transitioning into films and digital content. His breakthrough role in Bandish Bandits (2020) earned him widespread recognition. Since then, he has been seen in projects such as Maja Ma (2022) and Khakee: The Bengal Chapter (2023). With Abhootpurva, Ritwik is all set to make his mark on the big screen, bringing his undeniable charm to cinema halls.
