10 dead in Vizag Steel Plant accident

Visakhapatnam, June 13 (UNI): The death toll in the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant accident rose to 10 as one more victim succumbed to injuries in the hospital on Saturday.
Officials here on Saturday said one of the injured, Gokivada Suribabu, succumbed to injuries while undergoing medical treatment in the Seven Hills Hospital today. With his death, the death toll has risen to 10. As many as 8 workers were killed on the day itself, while two more workers succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
The major accident took place in the VSP on June 8 in the evening at steel melt shop 1 as overhead crane 2 caught fire and exploded, spilling hot crude steel on the workers.
