26pc hike in ad rates approved, revised for first time since 2019

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) In a move aimed at bolstering the traditional media industry amid its rapid transition to digital platforms, the Government of India has approved a 26 per cent hike in advertisement rates, raising the print media rate for black-and-white ads from Rs 47.40 to Rs 59.68 per sq. cm for dailies with a circulation of one lakh.
The Government has also agreed to the recommendations of the Committee relating to premium rates to be offered for colour advertisements, preferential positioning.
In a statement issued here, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting stated that the rates for release of advertisements in Print media by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) were last revised by the Ministry on the basis of the recommendations of the 8th Rate Structure Committee (RSC) in January, 2019, which were valid for a period of three years.

New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) The Indian Youth Congress (IYC), led by National President Uday Bhanu Chib, will gherao Parliament on Monday to protest against the central government over the “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chod” issue. The demonstration will begin at Kerala Bhawan in New Delhi and proceed towards Jantar Mantar , is part of the party’s ongoing campaign against what it alleges is collusion between the Election Commission and the central government, an alliance the Congress claims is undermining democracy in India.

Delhi issues traffic advisory for Lionel Messi GOAT Tour

New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) The Delhi Traffic Police on Monday issued a traffic advisory in view of the “Lionel Messi G.O.A.T India Tour – Delhi Leg” event scheduled to be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Ferozshah Kotla Ground, from 1 pm to 4 pm on December 15.
According to the advisory, traffic movement is expected to remain slow and regulated in and around the stadium due to diversions, restrictions, and heavy spectator movement during the event hours.
