Chennai, Oct 16 (UNI) The 7th edition of Windergy India 2025, India’s premier international trade fair and conference dedicated to wind energy will be held from October 29–31 at the Chennai Trade Centre.
The event will be inaugurated by Pralhad Joshi, Cabinet Minister for New and Renewable Energy, along with Shripad Yesso Naik, union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy. With over 350 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and an expected footfall of 15,000 visitors, Windergy India 2025 offers a vital platform for policy dialogue, innovation exchange, and industry collaboration.
India, currently ranked fourth globally in installed wind energy capacity, continues to make significant strides in renewable energy.
As of August 2025, India's wind power capacity stands at 53 GW, reflecting strong growth and a clear path toward the national target of 150 GW.
The Government of India has introduced key reforms to accelerate sector growth, including a reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) on wind energy equipment from 12% to 5%, which is expected to enhance affordability, stimulate innovation, and support India’s climate and energy security goals.
"As one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy markets, India’s quest for Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance) in renewable energy is powered by bold policies, strategic partnerships, and faith in indigenous innovation. Wind power is not just a vector of clean energy, but the cornerstone of our national self-reliance," said Aditya Pyasi, CEO, Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers’ Association.
Windergy India 2025 is jointly organised by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association and PDA Ventures Private Limited, with support from the Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) and others.
Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited joins as the Partner State, showcasing Karnataka’s leadership in wind innovation. Pavilions from Denmark, Germany, and Spain will further enhance the global appeal of the exhibition.
“Windergy India 2025 will be a global crossroads for wind energy innovation, investment, and collaboration. As India scales its renewable ambitions, this platform will spotlight emerging technologies, unlock new business opportunities and foster strategic alliances across borders. We are committed to curating an ecosystem where ideas flourish and partnerships thrive,” Pradeep Devaiah, Chairman & CEO, PDA Ventures Pvt. Ltd. UNI VJ SSP
