AAP MP Ashok Mittal offers jobs to families of Punjab flood victims

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal has announced that he will provide a permanent job at Lovely Professional University (LPU) to one member from each of the 43 families who lost a relative in the recent floods in Punjab. Mittal, who is also the chancellor of the university, described the decision as a personal initiative.
The announcement was praised by AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, who called the step "deeply moving" and stated that it would help restore courage to the grieving families. In a post on social media platform X, Kejriwal said that Punjab’s spirit of brotherhood and solidarity would help the state recover and emerge stronger from the tragedy.
The floods have caused significant damage in parts of Punjab, with several casualties reported. Mittal expressed his condolences to the affected families and paid tribute to those who died.
