Adarsh Gaurav embodies a 10-year-old child in 'Alien Earth'

Mumbai, Sept 8 (UNI) Actor Adarsh Gourav, noted for playing complex characters, takes an extraordinary artistic leap in the web series 'Alien Earth', now streaming on FX and Jio.
In a remarkable feat of transformation, Gourav inhabits the psyche of a 10-year-old boy, a part that demanded not only emotional depth but also painstaking preparation.
In order to portray the innocence and spontaneity of childhood, Gourav immersed himself in extensive groundwork. He also took part in creative workshops designed to strip away performance habits, compelling him instead to embrace unpredictability.
Sharing his experience, Gourav said, “Playing a child was a completely new and extremely enriching experience for me. It taught me how important it is to let go of control. Children live with a sense of abandon and freedom that we often lose as adults. I had to rewire myself, observe kids around me. I learned from watching children how they ask questions, laugh at small things and suddenly get distracted. All this became the foundation of my performance.”
He added, “We also had sessions with April, a child psychologist in Bangkok. There, we did fun exercises like drawing, making clay sculptures, sharing our childhood stories, even interacting with our own 'childhood versions.' It was both therapeutic and insightful. When the script and the character's journey are so clear, you surrender yourself to it. Playing this role was both liberating and challenging for me, as it required constant reminders to think like a child, not an adult, who is seeing everything for the first time.”
