Adivasi women lead successful enterprise with nutritious Ipappuvvu laddus

Hyderabad, Nov 9 (UNI) The Telangana government is continuing its efforts to empower women economically, particularly in tribal regions, through skill development and livelihood programs.
One notable example is the Bheem Bhai Tribal Women's Cooperative Society in Utnoor, which has emerged as a model for self-reliant women-led entrepreneurship.
Supported by the ITDA Utnoor Skill Development Wing, the cooperative produces Ipappuvvu laddus, a traditional and highly nutritious delicacy made from the Ipappuvvu flower, a long-valued ingredient in tribal diets. To enhance their skills, 12 tribal women were trained in Yavatmal, Maharashtra, before a production unit was established in Utnoor with an investment of Rs 40 lakh. Of this, TRICOR provided a 60 percent subsidy, while the rest was covered through bank loans and contributions from the women.
