Afghan police discover arms, ammunition

Kabul, June 23 (UNI) Personnel of counter-terrorism have discovered a quantity of weapons and ammunition in eastern Afghanistan's Paktia province, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement on Monday.
The contraband, which included Kalashnikovs, pistols, grenades, a large quantity of cartridges and bullets, and other illegally preserved military equipment, has been seized during operations on the outskirts of the Samkani district, the statement said.
Without furnishing details on whether anyone was arrested on the charges of keeping illegal weapons and ammunition, the statement added that the military tools had been handed over to the relevant authorities.

New satellite images reveal some notable success of Iranian strikes on US air base in Qatar

Washington, July 11 (UNI) Newly obtained satellite imagery has revealed that the Iranian strikes on the US military base in Qatar on June 23, did in fact succeed in penetrating US air defences, with the imagery showcasing notable damage to a communications centre within the air base, reports Iran International.
