After 30 years, Mammootty and Adoor Gopalakrishnan team up again

New Delhi, Jan 24 (UNI) Superstar Mammootty is all set to reunite with acclaimed filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan for the upcoming film ‘Padayaatra’. The film’s puja ceremony was held on Friday in the presence of Mammootty, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, and members of the film’s crew.
Padayaatra is being produced under the banner of Mammootty Kompany. Sharing pictures from the ceremony, the production team wrote, “Padayaatra Pooja Ceremony!! The shoot started today. Seeking all your love and support.”
The project marks the reunion of Mammootty and Adoor Gopalakrishnan after nearly three decades. The iconic actor-director duo last collaborated on Vidheyan.
They have previously worked together on critically acclaimed films such as Anantaram and Mathilukal, the latter earning Mammootty a National Award for his performance. Fans are now eagerly awaiting their fourth collaboration, ‘Padayaatra’.
Meanwhile, Mammootty is also set to team up once again with director Khalid Rahman following their successful collaboration on Unda. The upcoming project will be produced by Shareef Muhammed under the banner of Cubes Entertainment, the production house behind the blockbuster Marco.
Announcing the film on Instagram, Cubes Entertainment shared a tribute video for Mammootty and wrote, “From Bloodbath to Beastland. Now it’s time for the Big Bang. A Tribute To The Big ‘M’. Cubes Entertainments Production 3 Mammookka X Khalid Rahman X Shareef Muhammed.”
The film will also feature Shine Tom Chacko, Jacob Gregory, and Arjun Ashokan in prominent roles.
Mammootty was most recently seen in Kalamkaval, directed by Jithin K Jose, with music composed by Mujeeb Majeed. The film was produced by George Sebastian under the banner of Mammootty Kompany.
