After Nitish turns silent, Congress to rake up special status demand for Bihar

Patna, August 10 (UNI) Congress on Saturday announced to launch of statewide agitation on August 13 and 14 for special status to Bihar, saying Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has now turned silent on the issue.
Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC)President Akhilesh Prasad Singh while announcing the decision of his party to launch the agitation for special status demand for Bihar here, told media persons that press conferences would be organised in all district headquarters on August 12 to make people aware on the issue.
On August 13 and 14, party leaders would organise dharnas at all block headquarters

Mizoram excise officials seize about 1 kg raw opium near Myanmar border

Aizawl, Feb 12: In a major crackdown on drug smuggling, officials of the Mizoram Excise & Narcotics Department seized 945 grams of raw opium along the Indo-Myanmar border, a senior government spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The seizure was made on Tuesday evening at a location between Zote village in Champhai district and Bulfek village in Myanmar, department spokesperson Peter Zohmingthanga said.
