Agriculture officer swept away in Ganol river

Shillong, Aug 3 (UNI) An agriculture officer in Meghalaya was swept away by strong water currents while attempting to cross the Ganol river at Sella Wari, near Tura in West Garo Hills district on Sunday, a police official said.

A search and rescue operation is underway to locate Teseng M. Sangma, the District Agriculture Officer in South West Garo Hills district. Sangma was swept away while on a picnic with his family.
