Ahead of PM Modi’s expected visit, preparations in full swing

Imphal, Sept 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Manipur on September 13 although an official confirmation is still awaited. His expected trip would be his first since the outbreak of ethnic violence in May 2023.
Amid growing anticipation, Manipur is witnessing intensive preparations, with tight security arrangements and rising expectations over possible key policy announcements during the visit.
PM Modi is expected to travel to Churachandpur first after arrival from Mizoram. Churachandpur district, named after Manipur monarch Churachand, remains a key place in the Manipur conflict as the crisis started in the district following a rally, with burning of government offices and attack on people.
