Alcaraz sinks Fritz to enter third Wimbledon final

London, July 11 (UNI) Spanish tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz powered into his third consecutive Wimbledon final today, defeating America’s Taylor Fritz in a gripping four-set semifinal clash 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(6) on Centre Court.
Facing a surging Fritz, who entered the semifinal on the back of titles in Stuttgart and Eastbourne and enjoying his best grass court season to date, Alcaraz once again showcased his ability to lift his game when it mattered most. Despite dropping a set and facing intense pressure throughout, the defending champion’s composure and consistency proved too much for the American.
Fritz, the No.5 seed, was bidding for his maiden Wimbledon final and hoped his strong grass court form would bridge the gap against the World No.3, especially since grass was seen as the "equaliser" in their matchup. But Alcaraz, unfazed by Fritz’s momentum, used his all-court game to neutralise the American’s firepower, extending his winning streak on these lawns to 20 consecutive matches.
