All accused in railway constable lynching case identified, arrests soon: Odisha CB DG

Bhubaneswar, May 18 (UNI) Odisha Crime Branch Director General Vinaytosh Mishra on Monday said all individuals involved in the brutal lynching of Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable Soumya Ranjan Swain at Balianta on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar have been identified and will be arrested shortly.
Addressing the media, Mishra stated that the Crime Branch is conducting a comprehensive investigation to ensure justice for the slain constable’s family and warned that no person involved in the shocking mob violence would be spared.
Soumya Ranjan Swain was allegedly tied to a pole and beaten to death by a mob on May 7 after a girl accused him of attempting to outrage her modesty following a collision between his motorcycle and her two-wheeler.

Kolkata, Jun 6 (UNI) In what is being seen as the most ambitious railway infrastructure package announced for West Bengal in recent years, union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday unveiled railway projects worth nearly Rs 1 lakh crore, including a proposed Delhi-Siliguri bullet train corridor, 102 Amrit Bharat stations, 538 flyovers and underpasses, 61 new railway projects and a major expansion of the Kolkata Metro network.
