All departments must make necessary arrangements for monsoon season: Gandharva Rathore

Hamirpur (HP), June 10 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner cum Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Gandharva Rathore, has directed all administrative and departmental officials in the district to make necessary precautionary arrangements in view of the upcoming monsoon season.
After a video meeting with the State Disaster Management Authority about getting ready for possible emergencies during the monsoon, the Deputy Commissioner talked with district officials and told all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to find areas in their regions that are likely to flood, get waterlogged, or have landslides, and to check what equipment and resources the Public Works Department and other relevant departments have available. Teams comprising Home Guards, police personnel, and local volunteers should be kept ready with the necessary equipment.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that all departments must submit a list of their resources to the DDMA so that they can be utilised during any emergency situation. She emphasised that dead and hazardous trees near roads, buildings, and public places across the district must be removed immediately. The Forest Department has already identified approximately 450 such trees; all concerned departments should formulate a joint strategy for their removal.
