Alleged harassment of Kashmiri shawl sellers reported in Haryana

Chandigarh, Jan 20 (UNI) An incident involving two Kashmiri shawl sellers being allegedly pressured to raise religious slogans has been reported from Yamunanagar district, Haryana, after a video related to the episode surfaced online and drew public attention.
The incident is stated to have occurred in Kalawad village, where the two men were engaged in selling shawls and blankets as part of their routine work. According to information emerging from the video, a group of local youths stopped them, questioned their identity, and allegedly made provocative remarks, leading to a tense situation.
In the video, one of the local youths is seen recording the interaction while repeatedly insisting that the traders chant certain slogans. The Kashmiri youths are heard objecting, stating that religious expression is a personal matter and should not be forced. One of them asserts that they identify as Indians and should not be portrayed otherwise.
