Alliance strains emerge in ruling Maha Yuti over local body polls

Mumbai, Nov 15 ( UNI) Tensions within the ruling Maha Yuti alliance in Maharashtra, comprising BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and the NCP (Ajit Pawar) — are visible across several local body election battlegrounds. Despite claims of a “natural alliance” with the BJP, the Shinde group has taken a stand against the party in multiple regions.
In the Dahanu Municipal Council election in Palghar district, all major parties, including the Shinde group, have united against the BJP.
In Nandurbar, a late-night meeting between Shiv Sena MLA Chandrakant Raghuwanshi and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) district president Dr Abhijit More reflected similar indications. Both parties are considering contesting the election together, keeping the BJP away.
