Ambala airport set for take-off soon, says union Minister Verma

Chandigarh, June 9 (UNI) The newly developed domestic airport at Ambala Cantonment is expected to commence operations soon and could become India's 165th operational airport, union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Social Justice and Empowerment B.L. Verma said today.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting the Civil Enclave at Ambala Cantonment, Verma said India's aviation infrastructure has witnessed significant expansion over the past decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that while only 74 airports were operational in the country before 2014, the number has now risen to 164, with the Ambala facility likely to join the network shortly.
The union Minister said the project represents a major boost for regional connectivity and credited Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij for consistently pursuing the development of the airport. He described the project as a significant milestone for Ambala and congratulated the state government, officials, engineers and departments involved in its execution.
