Channapatna, Apr 2 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday conducted a roadshow here as part of the BJP's campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.
Shah was accompanied by former Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, during the roadshow.
A large number of BJP supporters and party members gathered to support the roadshow, chanting slogans in favor of Prime Minister Modi.
Earlier in the day, Shah addressed party workers in Bengaluru, focusing on strengthening grassroots leadership and organisational strength ahead of the elections.
He expressed confidence that the BJP-JDS alliance in Karnataka would win all 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state, preventing the Congress from winning any.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar welcomed the opposition's participation in politics, expressing confidence that similar rallies would not be successful.
The BJP has fielded candidates in 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka and left three seats for its ally, JDS.
Notable candidates include CN Manjunath, the son-in-law of JDS patriarch HD Deve Gowda, who is contesting from Bengaluru Rural constituency against DK Suresh, the brother of Shivakumar.
The general elections in Karnataka are scheduled to be held in two phases on April 26 and May 7 for the 28 constituencies. UNI BDN AKS
