Amit Shah’s remark was ‘our alliance will capture power, and not coalition govt’: Clarifies EPS

Chennai, July 16 (UNI) Attempting at some semantic jugglery, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) today clarified that Union Home Minister and BJP stalwart Amit Shah had merely said "only our alliance will capture power" in the 2026 assembly election and not "coalition government".
“What Amit Shah had said should not be misrepresented. He had said that only our alliance will win the election. It is the media which is trying to twist the issue to project a different picture to give the impression that there are cracks in the alliance. The BJP is part of our team, and in our alliance, the final decision rests with me,” he told reporters at Chidambaram and asserted that the AIADMK will secure the majority on its own and form the government.
“Our alliance, the AIADMK-led NDA, is stable. Besides the BJP there are other parties with us. Any attempt to create divisions among the constituents will not succeed. We are clear headed. The alliance was formed after discussions and it was decided that the AIADMK will lead the alliance and form the government,” was his response to a question.
