Aneek Chaudhari launches Mono Studios Entertainment with four bold Indian Indies

Kolkata, Aug 11 (UNI) Kolkata-based indie auteur Aneek Chaudhari has unveiled Mono Studios Entertainment, a production house conceived as a "creative sanctuary" for emerging directors, designed to amplify distinctive voices and connect Indian filmmakers with international collaborators.
At its inception, Mono Studios has launched with a quartet of features emblematic of its mission. Indrayudh Sarkar’s "Chhader Bagan" (The Terrace Garden), billed as a “narrative feature steeped in intimate storytelling, exploring the quiet poetry of urban life from the vantage of a Kolkata terrace,” while Rupsa Banerjee’s "East is East" is a “deeply personal documentary chronicling the journey of a Japanese musician who migrates to India and immerses himself in the mystical world of Baul folk music, blending cultures through song,” per Mono Studios.
Detail on Pradipta Bhattacharya's "Atalantik" is thin, but is being positioned as “a cultural bridge between Indian creators and the international art film community.”
Completing the debut lineup is Chaudhari's own "A White Horse's Neigh", which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
The film interlaces Indian mythic sensibilities with Norse legend, weaving a tale around eight fabled horses and quest for a loat steed believed to hail from a distant future.
The film tranverses Kolkata and Sunderbans in search of a lost steed from a future realm, tied to the legend of eight mythical horses and features performances by Tamalynne Grant, Ranjan Giri, Usha Banerjee, Rahuul Gupta, Shalini and Rashmi Kumari, reports DEADLINE.
“The idea was to create a space where a filmmaker’s courage is celebrated as much as their craft,” said Chaudhuri about Mono Studios’ founding. “Indian cinema has always had an alternative heartbeat, but it needs platforms that don’t just showcase films — they nurture them from inception to release. Mono Studios will stand for fearless storytelling and the art of cinema without compromise.” UNI NST SSP
