AP Govt forms GCC Advisory Council to attract MNCs

Vijayawada, Sep 9 (UNI) In a major move to establish Andhra Pradesh as a hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), the state government has announced the formation of a 360-degree GCC Advisory Council.
The council will comprise CXOs of global corporations, industry bodies like NASSCOM, business councils, consulting leaders, real estate developers, and top academic institutions. The move is expected to accelerate GCC investments and position the state as a leader in the digital economy.
GCCs are strategic units of multinational corporations that handle R&D, IT, finance, procurement, and customer services. Unlike traditional outsourcing, they are wholly owned by their parent companies and are one of the fastest-growing engines of global business. With more than 1,600 GCCs operating in India and employing 1.6 million professionals, Andhra Pradesh is now making an aggressive pitch to capture the next wave of investments.

Kishan Reddy on Tuesday demanded that the Telangana government immediately clear over Rs 54,000 crore in dues owed to Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), saying the mounting arrears were pushing the public sector coal miner into financial distress and affecting its ability to pay salaries, modernise mines and invest in expansion.

Bodies of AP tourists killed in Vietnam boat accident reach Hyderabad

Kerala Human Rights Commission orders war-footing action to clear waste from State capital

Thiruvananthapuram, July 14 (UNI) Taking serious note of mounting complaints that canals, streams and roadsides in the State capital have turned into garbage dumps, the Kerala State Human Rights Commission (HRC) has directed the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation to launch immediate and coordinated action to clear the accumulated waste and establish a permanent mechanism to prevent its recurrence.
