AP Minister highlights India’s manufacturing potential

Vijayawada, Nov 17 (UNI) Reiterating the government’s commitment to strengthening the manufacturing ecosystem, Kondapalli Srinivas, Minister MSME, highlighted that India—traditionally strong in the services sector—must now expand its presence in global manufacturing value chains.

The Minister, while inaugurating the 22nd CII Global MSME Business Summit today in New Delhi organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, noted that India is one of the world’s largest and most democratic consumer markets.

“If industry can cater to India, it automatically gains a platform to serve the world. Our goal is to create an ecosystem where MSMEs can grow from small to medium and eventually become large enterprises,” he said.

The Minister urged CII to further work closely with government agencies to develop policies that support MSME growth, with particular focus on standardization and certification to help Indian products gain acceptance in global markets, on establishing more testing and certification labs across India, and educating industry on international compliance standards.

He emphasized that aligning product standards with global requirements would significantly boost India’s export competitiveness. “Indian MSMEs must be guided to take maximum advantage of FTAs and global market access opportunities,” he said.

Highlighting rapid technological advancements, particularly in artificial intelligence, the Minister stated that new technologies make global integration more accessible than ever. “The world has become smaller and more connected. The MSME must leverage technology to connect Indian entrepreneurs with global opportunities,” he noted.

“I request CII to further work closely with the government to strengthen India’s MSME sector, expand domestic capabilities, and build global value chains. Together, we can create a powerful ecosystem that shapes the future of Indian industry,” he asserted.

The Summit witnessed the presence of the prominent dignitaries such as Ed Jager, Minister (Commercial), High Commission of Canada in India Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD, National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Ltd. (NICDC) Sunil Chordia, Chairman, CII National MSME Council & CMD, Rajratan Global Wire M Ponnuswami, Co-Chairman, CII National MSME Council & CMD, Pon Pure Chemical India Pvt Ltd.
