APCTA stages sit-in dharna across Arunachal

Itanagar, Oct 4 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh College Teachers’ Association (APCTA) observed a one-day sit-in dharna in all 17 government degree colleges across the state on Friday.
This protest was in support of the long-pending demands of All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organisation (AIFUCTO), which seeks to strengthen the country’s higher education system.
The key demands include the granting of professorship in the colleges, reintroduction of Old Pension System (OPS), an increase in the budget allocation on education to 10%, restoration of the faculty development programme, etc.
