Are helplines operational for destitutes or not: HC asks UP govt

Lucknow, May 19 (UNI) The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Monday asked the state officials whether helplines for the help of destitute people have been publicised and are operational or not.
The court raised the question on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) relating to the issue of the sufferings of homeless and destitute people. It has fixed the next hearing of the case on May 27 while seeking information on the issue from the state authorities.
Along with this, the central government has also been asked for complete information about the mechanism of helping destitute people.

Internship allowance of Veterinary students increased threefold in UP

Lucknow, May 18 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, approval was granted to the proposal to increase the internship allowance of veterinary students studying in the state from Rs 4,000 per month to Rs 12,000 per month.
This cabinet decision of the state will provide major financial support to veterinary students in Uttar Pradesh and will also boost their morale.
