Argentina sees over 508,000 dengue cases in 2024

Buenos Aires, June 17 (UNI) Argentina has logged more than 508,000 cases of dengue so far this year, 3.29 times higher than the same period last year, with most cases seen in the country's central region, the Health Ministry reported Sunday.
In the first 23 weeks of the year, 508,867 cases of dengue were reported, accounting for 96.7 percent of the 526,030 total cases registered since the dengue season began in week 31 of 2023, according to the ministry's latest National Epidemiological Bulletin.
The central region registered the highest number of cases, representing 61.6 percent of the total, followed by the northwest region at 23.1 percent and the northeast region at 13.1 percent.
