Arunachal: Accused in Akashdeep twin murder case sentenced to life imprisonment

Itanagar, Mar 17 (UNI) After evading arrest for over a decade, Md Majibur Rahman, the prime accused in the 2008 Akashdeep twin murder case, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the District & Sessions Court, Yupia.
Rahman, who had escaped from the Jully Jail in 2012, was successfully apprehended last year by the Itanagar Police team after an extensive 12-year-long manhunt. His arrest marked a significant breakthrough in one of Itanagar’s most high-profile criminal cases.
Following his capture, the police diligently pursued the trial process, ensuring that justice was served. The recent court conviction brings long-awaited closure to the case and reaffirms the commitment of law enforcement agencies in delivering justice.
