Aryan Khan's ‘The Ba*ds of Bollywood’ tops in global viewership: IMDb

Los Angeles/New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) IMDb has released its annual list of the Most Popular Indian Series of 2025, with Aryan Khan’s “The Ba*ds of Bollywood” securing the No. 1 spot among global audiences, reports Variety.
According to Variety, the rankings are based on page views from IMDb’s 250 million-plus monthly visitors worldwide and include Indian series released between January 1 and November 30, 2025, with an average user rating of 6 or higher.
Crime thrillers dominate this year’s top 10, with seven entries from the genre. Six of the titles are new seasons or franchise extensions, including Prime Video hits “Paatal Lok” Season 2 (No. 3), “Panchayat” Season 4 (No. 4), and “The Family Man” Season 3 (No. 9).
Three major streamers make up the list: Netflix and Prime Video each claim four spots, while JioHotstar features twice.
Netflix’s “Black Warrant”, a prison drama directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, comes in at No. 2, followed by Prime Video’s return of the neo-noir crime saga “Paatal Lok” Season 2. Prime Video’s comedy-drama “Panchayat” Season 4 continues its strong streak at No. 4.
Netflix rounds out its presence with “Mandala Murders” (No. 5), a mythological crime thriller, and “Khakee: The Bengal Chapter” (No. 8), a standalone follow-up to the Bihar-set series.
Prime Video’s horror thriller “Khauf” takes No. 6, while JioHotstar’s espionage drama “Special Ops” Season 2 ranks at No. 7. The list concludes with Prime Video’s spy thriller “The Family Man” Season 3 at No. 9 and JioHotstar’s legal drama “Criminal Justice: A Family Matter” at No. 10.
Aryan Khan, the director of Netflix’s chart-topping title, celebrated the milestone, calling the series “a pop cultural phenomenon” that captures “the madness, the magic, the mischief, and the raw ambition that fuels this industry.”
He added, “No soft edges, no pretending, we told the story the way it deserved to be told, and audiences across the world showed up for it. The memes, the fan edits, the arguments, the obsession, that’s when a show becomes culture, not just a weekend watch.”
Yaminie Patodia, head of IMDb India, praised the creativity behind this year’s top titles, “The Most Popular Indian Series of 2025 lists highlight the boldness and innovation of Indian creators. The storytelling spans everything from romance to animation, superhero sagas to satire — reflecting the industry’s vibrancy. It’s especially exciting to see Indian stories and cultural narratives resonating globally,” says Patodia, quoted by Variety.
