Assam CM sounds poll bugle for forthcoming BTC elections

Guwahati, Aug 2 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today sounded the poll bugle for the forthcoming elections to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and said that the BJP will contest in all the 40 seats of the council.
The election to the BTC, which is an autonomous council under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, likely to go for the election on September end. At present the regional political party, United Progressive Party -Liberal (UPPL) --a partner of the BJP led alliance in Assam--is in power
in BTC.
