ATVK stages protest in Srinagar over PoK killings

Srinagar, Jun 11 (UNI) The Association of Terror Victims Kashmir (ATVK) on Thursday staged a protest outside the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP), in Sonwar, Srinagar, demanding justice for civilians killed recently in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The protest of nearly a dozen members of the group was led by its ATVK chairperson Tasleema Akhtar.
Condemning the killing of civilian protesters in PoK, she expressed deep concern over reports of excessive force and human rights violations committed against peaceful protesters.

Ghazipur, July 22 (UNI) An FIR has been registered against Samajwadi Party MP Afzal Ansari, two policemen (former arms clerks) and others over alleged irregularities in arms licences linked to the IS-191 (Mukhtar Ansari) gang, following an investigation into weapons issued to members and associates of the late mafia don.

Farmers stopped during march to BJP office in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, July 22 (UNI) Hundreds of farmers, responding to a nationwide call by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) against the proposed India–US Free Trade Agreement (FTA), staged a protest in Chandigarh on Wednesday after police stopped their march towards the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Sector 33. A brief scuffle broke out when security personnel prevented the protesters from moving ahead by erecting barricades.
