Authentic voter list is foundation of strong democracy: Dharampal Singh

Lucknow, Nov 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh unit General Secretary (Organisation) of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dharampal Singh on Saturday said that an authentic voter list is the foundation of a strong democracy.
Addressing a meeting on the voter revision campaign, Singh said, "It is our responsibility to ensure that every eligible citizen's name is added to the voter list under the Election Commission's SIR process and that no ineligible person's name remains on the voter list. The voter revision campaign must reach every village, city and street."
He said that the voter revision campaign is the most important campaign. "This campaign is a campaign to purify the voter list. We must ensure that not a single eligible person is left out of the voter revision list and we must also ensure that bogus voters are not included in the list. To effectively conduct the campaign, war rooms will be set up at the district and assembly levels, which will be directly connected to the state-level war room," he said.
