Dhaka, Jan 22 (UNI) Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Rome to Dhaka received a bomb threat, Group Captain Kamrul Islam, executive director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport said on Wednesday.
However, the flight, carrying 250 passengers and 13 crew members, landed at Dhaka airport safely at 9:20am, the official said.
"We (airport authorities) received a bomb threat from an unknown number regarding the Biman's Rome to Dhaka Flight," said Group Captain Kamrul adding that the threat has led to heightened security measures at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the Daily Star reported.
All passengers were evacuated and escorted to the terminal without incident, he said.
"We are following protocol to detect any potential threats," the group captain added.
No bomb was found inside the aircraft, said a top official at the HSIA around 12:40pm, the report said.
Security Officials are now checking luggage of passengers, he added.
